Operation Skybridge - Deployment Update

Good afternoon Aston Residents. 

It has been over four weeks now since Operation Skybridge deployed to the Aston area. 

In this time, we have made several key arrests for offences including Robbery, Theft from Motor vehicle, Theft of Motor Vehicle, Burglary as well as possession of drugs and weapons. 

Additionally, we have conducted several stop & searches, submitted numerous intelligence reports, as well as seizing a number of vehicles and weapons. 

Working in partnership with the local neighbourhood team, as well as colleagues from other teams such as Traffic, Dogs and Firearms, we have seen a reduction in some offences types, including a 54% reduction in Theft of Motor Vehicle. 

Despite these positive changes, we understand that for every offence committed, there is a victim that has been impacted. 

We will continue to relentlessly target those intent on causing harm to your community to further reduce offending. 

Our operation in the Aston and the surrounding areas continues, utilising plain clothes officers on foot, cycles and in unmarked vehicles. We also patrol in marked vehicles, providing a high visibility presence 24 hours a day.
