Good morning Resident
I hope you’re well and you enjoyed the one week of sunshine we had, we’ve now got to wait till May, back to the grey skies and constantly saying, well I hope we have a good summer this year!
So, what is in store for you this week, let’s find out…
AGM Do not forget the NHW AGM will be on the 12th of May from 19:00 onwards. It will be a great night to meet the Committee members, listen to our plans and some fascinating chats. Don’t miss it, it will be great.
Bike marking There’s two bike marking events coming up. The first one is on Monday 15th at Commonside East. This is a day event as it’s a day of Visibility for Merton council. So not only can you get your bike marked but you can meet a few of the Community Safer Team. We’re a lovely bunch as well and worth meeting! The second will be Friday the 27th at Colliers Wood tube station. This will be the usual end of the month event and will be between 07:30 and 09:15. I have to finish a bit early on this day as we have a NHW Committee meeting so please turn up before then.
Met Survey The Fairfield Independent Review, led by Dr Gillian Fairfield, is assessing the Met’s progress against the recommendations made in Baroness Casey’s 2023 review — and we’re asking Londoners to share their views as part of this important work. A new survey is gathering public feedback on cultural change, standards, and the impact of improvements made so far — and we need your insight. The survey is open to anyone who lives in London or has lived here in the past three years. It takes 10–20 minutes, and you don’t need any prior knowledge of the Casey Review to take part. Your experiences and perceptions matter. They will help shape meaningful, lasting change in the Met. Fairfield Independent Review Public Survey
Business Safety Training If you run a business, you’ll know the impact crime can have. It can be devasting to both your staff and your bottom line, and it can take a long time to build back. That’s why we are launching free neighbourhood safety training, specifically to help businesses. Building on our work with the Community Safety Charter, this free online training will to support your staff to: · Empower your team to respond to antisocial behaviour and harassment · Build knowledge, skills and confidence around personal safety · Strengthen connections with other local businesses · Improve overall security
Men’s Yoga Please see attached the flyer for free men’s Yoga in Pollards Hill. Yoga gives men a powerful blend of strength, mobility, and stress relief. It builds functional muscle, improves posture, and enhances flexibility in ways traditional workouts often miss, while also sharpening focus and reducing tension so the body and mind work together more smoothly. Have a look and go and perfect your downward dog and cow face pose (yoga positions I’m trustfully told).
Have a lovely weekend, don’t forget to spoil your mothers on Sunday if you can and I hope you enjoyed reading this week’s newsletter.
Warm regards
Mark Robinson
