PC 16769 ALAM, PC 10067 BOOTH and PC DICKENSON Were privileged to be invited to break the fast (Iftar) for Ramadan at Cheetham C of E Community Academy, Halliwell Lane, Cheetham Hill, Manchester, with staff, parents, and pupils. Iftar is the fast-breaking evening meal for Muslim during the month of Ramadan, taken at sunset when the Maghrib prayer is called. It is a time of gratitude and reflection, marking the ned of the daily fast, which is typically broken with dates and water. The term 'iftar' comes from the Arabic root meaning ‘to break’. During this meal families and communities often come together to share food and celebrate the end of the day's fast.
