I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Highways obstructions, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. Dear , Thank you for taking the local priority survey recently, we note that you highlighted Highways obstructions in the survey so we wanted to provide you with an update on this local matter. I recognise the ongoing concerns surrounding unsafe and inconsiderate parking along Joy Lane, and the impact it continues to have on residents, pedestrians, and other road users.
Today, I have been working closely with Canterbury City Council to tackle these issues.
Through this joint effort, we have:
Conducted regular joint patrols in key problem areas Engaged directly with residents to understand specific concerns Identified vehicles parking unsafely or obstructively and taken appropriate action Reviewed signage and existing restrictions to support clearer, safer parking practices Continued to promote responsible parking to ensure safety for all
This collaborative approach has already led to positive improvements, and we will continue working alongside Canterbury City Council to ensure Joy Lane remains a safe and accessible area for everyone.
If you witness persistent unsafe parking or have information that may assist, please get in touch with the appropriate agency so we can continue to address these issues together effectively.
Thank you for your support as we work together to keep our community safe.
