Ipswich – suspicious death investigation

Police are appealing for information following the death of a woman in Ipswich.

Officers were called at 1.10am yesterday morning, Tuesday 10 March, to concerns for the welfare of a woman at an address in Russet Road.

On arrival at the address, officers found a woman who was unresponsive. The woman was sadly was declared deceased a short time later.

The death is being treated as suspicious. A Home Office post-mortem examination is due to take place today, Wednesday 11 March. 

A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

This is being treated as an isolated incident and the parties involved are understood to have been known to each other.
