Dear Residents,

We are writing to make you aware that there has been a recent increase in theft from motor vehicles in the Beacon Road and St Peter’s areas. Officers are actively patrolling and investigating these incidents, but your vigilance and preventative steps can make a significant difference in reducing opportunities for crime.

How You Can Help Protect Your Vehicle

Please take a moment to review the following crime prevention advice:

🔒 Secure Your Vehicle

Always lock your vehicle, even if you are only leaving it for a short period.

Ensure all windows—including sunroofs—are fully closed.

👀 Remove Valuables

Do not leave any valuables on display (phones, laptops, bags, wallets, tools, sunglasses).

Empty the glove compartment or leave it open to show nothing is inside.

💡 Park Smart

Whenever possible, park in well‑lit, busy areas or on your driveway.

If you have CCTV or a doorbell camera, ensure it is working and covers your vehicle.

🔧 Tools & Equipment

If you use a van for work, remove tools overnight.

Consider using lockable boxes, alarms, or additional security markings.

📱 Report Anything Suspicious

If you notice anyone acting suspiciously around parked vehicles, please report it via 101 or online at the Kent Police website.

In an emergency or if a crime is in progress, call 999 immediately.
