Vehicle interference!

Dear Residents,

Your local Safer Neighbourhood Team have been made  aware of recent reports of vehicle interference across the Greenlands, Lodge Park and Woodrow. Incidents have included individuals trying car door handles, particularly during the evening and overnight.

We are increasing patrols in the area and encourage all residents to remain vigilant. If you see anything suspicious, please report it to us as soon as possible.

Protecting Your Vehicle – Crime Prevention Advice

To help reduce the risk of becoming a victim, please consider the following security tips:

🔒 Always lock your vehicle
Even when parked on your driveway or outside your home. Double‑check by trying the handle after locking.

🎒 Remove valuables from view
Sat-navs, bags, wallets, loose change and electronic devices can all tempt opportunistic offenders.

🔑 Keep keys safe and away from doors/windows
Keyless entry vehicles are particularly vulnerable—store keys in a signal‑blocking pouch if possible.

💡 Use additional security devices
Steering wheel locks, driveway CCTV, motion‑activated lighting or a doorbell camera can all deter offenders.

🅿️ Park in well‑lit or busy areas
Good lighting and visibility significantly reduce the likelihood of interference.

👀 Report suspicious activity immediately
If you see someone trying car doors, looking into vehicles, or acting suspiciously, call 999 if a crime is in progress.
For non‑emergencies or to share information, contact 101 or report online via the West Mercia Police website.
