High visibility patrol around Castlefield and Commercial area

Officers from the neighbourhood policing team, PC Riaz and PC Gregory carried out high‑visibility foot patrols this week across Castlefield and the Commercial District around Deansgate.

During the patrols, several individuals were stopped and searched as part of our continued efforts to tackle crime and keep the area safe.

Officers also encountered a male previously arrested and charged in connection with burglary offences in Castlefield and the city centre. A check on police systems confirmed he was currently wanted for breaching a court order after failing to comply with a community order imposed following theft offences in the Castlefield area.

The male was arrested and has since been remanded in custody until the next available court date.

Our neighbourhood officers will continue proactive patrols to deter offending and provide reassurance to residents, businesses, and visitors across the city centre.
