These teams focus on community engagement and tackling hate crime through local events and patrols. Local Actions in Wednesfield and Heath Town Recent community updates from these areas highlight the following efforts: Enforcement: Officers in Heath Town recently arrested a male for disorderly behaviour and racial abuse in a busy shopping centre.Community Surgery: The Heath Town team hosts monthly surgeries to engage with local residents and discuss concerns, including safety and discrimination.Patrols: The Wednesfield team conducts regular patrols in high-traffic areas like Bentley Bridge and Crossways shopping centres to maintain visibility and deter anti-social behaviour.Education: Through partnerships like the Wolves Foundation, local primary school pupils in the Wolverhampton area participate in anti-racism workshops to learn how to identify and challenge stereotypes. Campaign Details The "Give Racism the Red Card" (or Show Racism the Red Card) initiative is a key part of the force's broader Race Action Plan, which aims to create an anti-racist culture: Wear Red Day: The primary day of action for 2026 is scheduled for Friday, 16 October 2026.Reporting: If you witness or experience racist abuse in these areas, you can report it via the West Midlands Police Hate Crime portal or through True Vision.
