Burglary in Plymouth

Police were notified at around 1.40am this morning to reports of a break-in at a Tesco store on Alexandra Road in Mutley, Plymouth.

Officers attended the scene and conducted searches in the surrounding area.

This resulted in two men being detained a short time later and items such as alcohol being recovered.

Detective Sergeant Paula Smith said: “Following extensive searches for the suspects, our dog unit came across a shoe in nearby woodland which we believe may belong to the third suspect.

“We’d like to appeal directly to that person- it is a matter of time before we get to you, so do the easiest thing and hand yourself in.”

Two men, both aged 24, have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and are currently in police custody.
