Chiswick and Brentford East Update

Good evening, 

As always thank you for being Met Engage members and please continue to encourage others within your communities to sign up. 

There has been some slight changes to the neighbourhood Policing for the area. For the last 18 or so months I have been the lone Sgt covering all three Chiswick Wards, we now have a second Sgt who has just joined us and we also welcome Brentford East Ward to our cluster. 

Going forward I will be Supervisor for Brentford East and Chiswick Gunnersbury and Sgt Bishop will be for Chiswick Riverside and Homefields.

Whilst we cover our own Wards we will continue to work together as a group of teams conducting proactive Operations across Chiswick and Brentford to target crime. A lot of the crime we see crosses all four of the Wards such as vehicle crime and other theft offences. 

The last few months we have seen a rise in shoplifting in the High Road, it seems that having dealt with the local shoplifters we are now being targeted by those travelling into the area to commit crimes. We have been working with retailers to identify and prosecute offenders. A number of identified suspects will soon be receiving court summons in the post. We have also been conducting proactive uniformed and plain clothed Operations to target offenders and have arrested three individuals recently all of whom have been sent to court.
