 Prolific shoplifter banned from stepping foot in Liskeard

Joshua Wilson, 26, of no fixed abode, has been made subject of a criminal behaviour order CBO, which bars him from entering Liskeard and a number of shops he repeatedly targeted.

He appeared at Truro Magistrates Court on 3 March, where he pleaded guilty to a spree of nine shoplifting offences and was made subject of the CBO.

Wilson repeatedly targeted shops between 16 December – 7 January 2026, stealing over £500 worth of goods including clothing, food and household goods.

The full conditions of his three-year CBO prohibit him from:

Entering or loitering around any commercial premises in the County of Cornwall when requested to leave by premises manager or staff.

Entering or loitering outside: Coop. Barras Street, Poundland, Pondbridge Hill, Superdrug, Fore Street, Boots, Baytree Hill, Morrisons, Aldi, Clemo Road, Addington Stores, Callington Road, Spar Stores, Dean Street.

A complete ban from Liskeard Town in the County of Cornwall: Entering, attempting to enter or being located in the area known as Liskeard, save to attend pre-arranged appointments with professional organisations or when passing through on public transport.

Prohibited from: using swear words, making threats or acting or making others act in a way that causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to any other person in Liskeard.

Breaching any condition of the CBO is a criminal offence and can result in a custodial sentence.

The court also ordered Wilson to serve a two-year community order. He must also comply to curfew conditions and engage in a rehabilitation programme.

This has been a positive result for the community – we don’t underestimate the impact that Wilson’s behaviour had on local people, in particular the local businesses.
