Weapons Sweep Queen's Road Cemetery

Today your Selhurst Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted a Weapons Sweep operation that took place at Queen's Road Cemetery along Woodside Safer Neighbourhood Team.

The purpose of this operation is for officers to search the vast ground of the cemetery to potentially retrieve hidden or discarded weapons/objects that could be or have been used to commit crimes or hurt members of the public on the surrounding area.

We have covered the whole of the cemetery and came across a number of empty beverages cans and bottles on the open and in places that could be used to conceal weapons, we also found a rusty plastering trowel that has already been disposed by us.

Although weapons were not found, this only shows that our presence and continuous proactive operations such as the one we did today helps deterring crime and keeping crime activities under control.
