Good morning, all, Officer recruitment is now underway; if you’d like more information, please visit our website: Apply now to become a police officer | Lincolnshire Police For residents of West Lindsey interested in a policing career, I am happy to be contacted directly for advice and guidance on the application process, I can be reach via Michael.head@lincs.police.uk Incidents of Note Vehicle thefts: There have been several reports of stolen vehicles in the West Lindsey area in the last 7 days, which have been shared via Lincs Alert. We urge motorists to ensure vehicles are fully secured and that no valuables are left inside. More information on preventing vehicle theft is available on our website: Keeping vehicles safe | Crime prevention | Lincolnshire Police Community & Alcohol Partnership meeting: This took place on the 27 February and promoted some good discussions between police and local councillors, with several actions being set. Road traffic offences: Several tickets have recently been issued in the West Lindsey area for offences including mobile phone use while driving, speeding, driving without a licence, and driving without insurance. Fraud alerts: We are seeing an increase in fraud across Lincolnshire, including police‑impersonation scams, counterfeit £20 notes, and scam messages such as the ‘Hello Mum, my phone is broken’ text. Over the past week, we have also received reports of rogue traders in the Scotter area who are allegedly charging excessive amounts for roofing work. When arranging for any work to be carried out, always request a written quote. If the cost rises significantly once the work is completed, please contact the police or Trading Standards. For more advice on protecting yourself from fraud, visit our website: Advice about fraud | Lincolnshire Police. Partnership work with Trading Standards: Following the excellent partnership work on 23 February 2026, police located a vehicle in a Caistor car park selling illicit cigarettes and vapes. These items were seized, and Trading Standards are now leading the investigation. Illicit tobacco and vape products pose significant health risks and can cause long-term harm. They are also commonly used by Organised Crime Groups to fund further criminal activity. Police will continue to support Trading Standards in operations of this nature to disrupt these groups as effectively as possible. Civil Injunction obtain: On 27 February, the Neighbourhood Policing team secured what is possibly the strictest Civil Order in the region. The order prohibits Courtney Balloch from entering any property in Gainsborough where she is not named on the tenancy unless she has prior written permission from the property owner. Additional conditions have also been imposed to safeguard individuals being exploited by Balloch. Some may see this order as excessive, but it was necessary to protect vulnerable people in our community. We will continue to take similar action if needed to prevent individuals’ behaviour from putting others at risk. Road Traffic Collison: We are appealing for information after a recent collision that happened on 5 March, near Swinhope village. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant dashcam footage is encouraged to come forward. Read the full appeal here: https://www.lincs.police.uk/news/lincolnshire/news/2026/mar/appeal-after-collision-near-swinhope-village/ Please continue to encourage others to sign up to Lincs Alert. It is an important tool for sharing updates, and it has already helped the police with several CCTV enquiries relating to stolen vehicles, as members of the public can respond directly to messages. There are also several ‘Watch’ schemes available, including ‘Farm Watch’ and ‘Land Rover Watch’, which people can join for additional alerts.
