Offender Arrested

Good afternoon residents, 

We hope you've had a good week. 

Earlier today, South Tottenham PCSO's and a PC was on foot patrol when a member of TFL flagged down and reported a person armed with a saw attempting to steal bicycles. Officers recognized a suspect matching the witness description, then pursued and detained the male. Following a search and CCTV enquiry, the male was arrested for attempted theft of a pedal cycle and is now in custody. 

We will continue to conduct visibility patrols to deter criminals from operating in our area. 

If you have a cycle, you may want to implement some of the advice below to secure your property from theft.  

-Use a D-lock to secure your bike, as these are one of the most reinforced locks.

-When at home, store your bike out of plain view and if possible use a ground anchor lock.

-Register your bike on the National Cycle Database.

-If you have to leave your cycle in public, ensure you secure the bike as close to the stand as possible to give thieves little room to manoeuvre and use a sturdy railing, lamppost or bike stand.
