Partnership work around Nuisance parking

This afternoon PCSO Fell-Meakin and PCSO Supervisor Coleman joined up with Derby City Council Traffic Enforcement Officers, as we do on a regular basis, to conduct patrols around Normanton and Rose Hill to target drivers parking their vehicles illegally, as a nuisance or in a way that contravenes double yellow line restrictions.

Despite the expected flurry of insults and excuses, 22 fines were issued by the Traffic Enforcement Officers for various contraventions. Every consideration and discretion was utilised, but in all of the cases there was ample reason for the fine, and in some instances further cause for concern; Public order, threats of assault, leaving children in the vehicle whilst they went shopping, causing congestion and irrational driving away whilst attempting to avoid a fine to name a few. 

Whatever your views on the matter, Officers want to keep the paths and roads of Normanton and Rose Hill safe; the double yellow lines are there for a reason; to keep the public safe an to ensure the correct flow of traffic.
