Hoe street Update

Good Morning Hoe street

I wanted to give you an update on what Hoe street SNT have been doing over the last few weeks.

One thing had come up in our ward panel meeting was cars speeding down Hoe street at the location of the new Soho Theatre.

The request of a speed gun operation was asked at the ward panel meeting but after some careful consideration we decided against it because of the location, we feel that it would cause more harm than good considering the location that is right near a very busy junction near the high street.

What we have been doing is using one of our unmarked cars along the ward from the top at Milton Road to Lea Bridge road and  have been pulling over vehicles that are speeding or driving in a dangerous manner, this has led to multiply cars being pulled over for either speeding, dangerous driving or suspected to be under the influence of drugs.

Fines and warnings given out.

Something that has always come to us either in a meeting or from the people that we meet in the street is the time that crimes are being committed, Unfortunately we don’t set our own hours but we do have a few shifts in the month that start at 2pm and finish at midnight (if all goes well )

Last weekend we was on our late shift around Hoe street concentrating on our hotspots

The result of our late shift resulted in ASB warning, Community resolutions, drugs being taken of the streets along with laughing gas canisters  ( balloons ).
