Spring in Manor Park !

There was a real touch of Spring as we went out and about on foot patrol this morning - as you can see in the first photograph.

As we patrolled we could see that a large number of food establishments are opening later than usual. This reflects the fact that we are currently in the Holy Month of Ramadan. As you can see from the second picture, many establishments are offering Iftar menus to members of our Muslim community.

The third picture was taken in an East European food store and shows the Moldovan staff member we engaged with. 

As a result of our work with Met. Engage we have become very aware of a significant east European presence - something we are trying to embrace by encouraging participation in our Ward Panel.

The fourth photo shows a variety of flags outside a vape store on the Romford Road - inside we had a very interesting conversation re current affairs with the Iranian national who works there.

The last photo shows us talking to the security guard at Tesco's , which has been hit by a spate of shoplifters. He told us that he comes from Pakistan.

In one morning we have spoken to people from different parts of the world, all living, working and contributing.

This reflects the diverse and colourful nature of our E12 community.
