Dear Partner
Following our September 2025 webinar ‘Active After Dark: Making Female Safety a Priority for All’, we invite you to join our forthcoming online training session ‘Creating Safer Spaces for Movement: How to Be an Active Bystander’ as we continue to build on this important work.
This is a practical and empowering session designed to build confidence, awareness, and shared responsibility across the movement and physical activity sector.
Overview: Most of us have experienced moments when something didn’t feel right, a comment, a behaviour or an interaction that made us pause. Maybe we weren’t sure whether to step in, or we felt it wasn’t our place. There’s a powerful saying: “The standard you walk past is the standard you accept.” This session is about recognising those moments and understanding that even small actions can contribute to safer, more respectful environments for everyone.
As part of Bystander Awareness Month, we’ll come together and explore what it means to intervene safely and confidently, whether that’s speaking up, checking in with someone, or choosing another action that fits your comfort level.
Key discussion points:
While this session is for everyone, we especially want to encourage men to join the conversation. Men play a crucial role as allies in shaping positive cultures, challenging harmful behaviour, and modelling safety and respect within movement and physical activity spaces. Your presence and engagement genuinely make a difference.
