Here’s a quick round up from me of the Binley, Willenhall, Cheylesmore & Earlsdon Neighbourhood Team 

What’s been happening in Binley & Willenhall?

Here’s a short roundup of our set;

Burglary Offences

DATE/TIME: 27/02/2026 14:15hrs

LOCATION: CANON HUDSON CLOSE

CIRCS: Two unknown offenders have attempted to gain entry by kicking the door. The victim has not been aware of this at the time as he was on holiday and when returning to the address he noticed his house had been attempted to be broken into by the Ring door bell being pulled of the front door and left on the floor. Further to this, the victim has noticed that the door frame had been damaged due to cracks and foot marks left on the door. No entry was gained.

DATE/TIME: 01/03/2026 22:09hrs

LOCATION: JOSEPH CREIGHTON CLOSE

CIRCS: Victim heard a loud bang coming from her back garden, then seen two black figures running from her rear patio door towards the rear fence in her garden. On Police arrival, the rear patio door was closed but insecure and the washing pole was snapped by the offenders during their escape. No entry was gained.

DATE/TIME: From: 21/02/2026 16:00hrs To: 23/02/2026 08:28hrs

LOCATION: CARDIFF CLOSE

CIRCS: Unknown offender(s) have entered via a front window. Items have been moved however no items suspected to have been stolen. 

DATE/TIME: 01/03/2026 00:22hrs

LOCATION: BINLEY GROVE

CIRCS:  Officers have been called to a burglary in progress. Upon officer’s attendance the victim has stated that the offender had been inside her front lounge area, then made off through a front window upon seeing the victim. Officers have identified that the offender had forced entry through the front window causing damage but had not stolen anything once inside. Whilst officers were conducting an area search, they have located a male matching the description and was very close to the offence location. He made off from officers but was detained and arrested.

Although the team will continue their strategic patrols aimed to prevent and disrupt, there are some things you can also do to deter potential burglars;

- Close and lock all doors and windows when leaving your property and overnight.

- Secure all outbuildings.

- Property, door and window alarms are an effective deterrent.

- Physical security measures like extra locks, chain locks, sash locks etc.

- Cameras and CCTV. These are not just a deterrent, they also provide us with a line of enquiry in identifying offenders should something happen to your property.

- Do not leave valuables in sight when leaving the property and overnight. Close curtains and blinds as opportunistic thieves and burglars may choose to take advantage.

Motor Vehicle Offences

DATE/TIME: From: 23/02/2026 18:00hrs To: 24/02/2026 08:00hrs

LOCATION: ST JAMES LANE

CIRCS: Unknown offender(s) have gained entry into a Ford Transit van via unknown means and stolen £10.00 cash, before making good their escape in unknown direction.

DATE/TIME: From: 24/02/2026 11:57hrs To: 24/02/2026 14:30hrs

LOCATION: ALLARD WAY

CIRCS: A Seat Leon was parked on Allard Way following an RTC. Upon return to collect the vehicle it was found to be gone, taken by offender/s unknown. Owner retains both sets of keys.

DATE/TIME:  01/03/2026 13:13hrs

LOCATION:  BRANDON ROAD

CIRCS: Police received a 999 call reporting 2 males using an angle grinder to cut locks off a motorbike. Motorbike had been stolen and driven away from the location before police arrived. 

Please ensure you remove any items and valuables from your vehicle when leaving, particularly overnight and when in remote locations. Opportunists have no regard for value. In the past we have even seen break ins to vehicles for small change left in the centre console – so please ensure you remove everything. 

As always, we are looking into a number of lines of enquiry in regards to the crimes mentioned above, including looking at CCTV evidence, Dash Cam footage as well as speaking to key witnesses who may have important and helpful information to assist us. Some security measures you might consider for your vehicles;

- Anti-theft screws on VRM plates to prevent them from being removed/stolen. 

- Remove all belongings from your vehicles including, electronics, valuables and even small change.

- Do not keep tools or other valuables inside your vehicle overnight or whilst unattended. 

- Keep your car keys in a faraday pouch; these prevent the signal being read/cloned/exploited.

- A disk lock or crook lock to disable your steering wheel. These are both visual and physical deterrents. 

- Get a cage fitted around the catalytic converter.

- Write on vehicles and valuables with SmartWater. This makes them easily identifiable if stolen and recovered.

- Have an immobiliser fitted.

In regards to off-road bikes, West Midlands Police maintains a stringent policy against the illegal and antisocial use of off-road bikes, prioritising community safety and addressing public concerns. 

We are regularly organising Targeted Operations and Initiatives, focussing on areas with high reports of illegal off-road bike activity, employing tactics such as surveillance, warrants, and community collaboration. 

Please continue to report this in as much detail as possible; Location, time, description of the bike(s), description of the rider(s), routes they use to and from the location, any names and addresses if known etc. Photos and videos are ideal (if possible to obtain without putting yourself in danger). 

This information is key to us as a Neighbourhood Team in building a bigger picture of the problem and tackling these issues through robust enforcement, community engagement, and strategic operations.

PACT Meetings (Police and Communities Together)

PACT (Police and Communities Together) is a partnership meeting which gives you the opportunity to regularly meet with your local Neighbourhood Policing Team, local councillors and other local partners, and raise any community issues. 

We use these meetings to find out what the issues are in the community and to answer questions from residents with the aim to tackle crime and community safety concerns at a local level. These meetings are your opportunity to raise your community priorities and concerns, receive crime prevention advice and receive updates on what the NPT and councillors have been doing to address the priorities and concerns raised at the previous meeting.

The meetings provide communities a forum to influence what happens in their neighbourhood and facilitates partnership working between local agencies and residents.
