Incident on Carlisle Place |
||
|
At around 9pm on Saturday 28th February police were called to reports of two males acting suspiciously near Evelyn Mansions on Carlisle Place. Thanks to swift reporting by a resident and the building site manager remotely monitoring CCTV coverage, police officers, including a police dog unit, were soon on scene and detained both males nearby. After initial enquiries, one male was arrested for being in possession of a pointed/bladed article in a public place after a kitchen knife was found in his backpack. He was charged and remanded into custody and was due to appear in court on Monday. Possession of a knife in a public place is always viewed as a serious matter, as are any attempts to break into property. The swift calls made to the police in this case ensured a timely response and a positive outcome. We are grateful for your continued vigilance. | ||
