Incident on Carlisle Place

At around 9pm on Saturday 28th February police were called to reports of two males acting suspiciously near Evelyn Mansions on Carlisle Place.

Thanks to swift reporting by a resident and the building site manager remotely monitoring CCTV coverage, police officers, including a police dog unit,  were soon on scene and detained both males nearby. After initial enquiries, one male was arrested for being in possession of a pointed/bladed article in a public place after a kitchen knife was found in his backpack. He was charged and remanded into custody and was due to appear in court on Monday.

Possession of a knife in a public place is always viewed as a serious matter, as are any attempts to break into property. The swift calls made to the police in this case ensured a timely response and a positive outcome. We are grateful for your continued vigilance.
