Hello, and welcome to your round up from the St Matthew’s Neighbourhood Policing Team, part of Walsall’s Local Policing Area (LPA). Keeping the different communities in St Matthew’s informed of some of the activities that we have done recently. Some things that we have been doing on our patch recently: Officers have carried out joint patrols with Walsall council community protection enforcement officer in and around Walsall town centre tackling anti social behaviour and keeping the community safe. A street watch was conducted with student volunteers from Walsall college. A cuppa with a copper was heard at Highgate View, similar events to follow. Two community speed watch's were conducted on Highgate Road, 50 vehicles passed in the hour and 1 vehicle were in excess of the speed limit and will receive appropriate warnings and on the second speed watch 150 vehicles passed in the hour and 3 vehicle were in excess of the speed limit and will receive appropriate warnings. Officers have continued to conduct high visibility patrols around the town centre and Caldmore. Advice from the Team: Always be aware of your surrounding's and who's around you or in your personal space. Do not leave you personal belongings visible to pick pocketers.
