||
|
Hello Resident
West Midlands Police
maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward hate crimes and incidents. They define a hate crime as any criminal offence perceived by the victim or any other person to be motivated by hostility or prejudice based on five "protected strands": race, religion, sexual orientation, disability, and transgender identity.
Core Messaging & Principles "You Do Not Need Evidence": A report can be made based solely on the perception of the victim or a witness that an incident was motivated by hate. "We Are Ready to Help": WMP is committed to addressing the impact of prejudice and ignorance, providing support both online and within the community. Zero Tolerance: The force prioritises these investigations, with an expectation of enhanced supervisory oversight for all reported hate crimes.
How to Report You can report hate crimes or incidents through several channels: Emergency: Call 999 if you are in immediate danger or a crime is in progress. Non-Emergency: Call 101 or use the West Midlands Police Live Chat. Anonymous/Third-Party:
