Weekly Update from your local Bablake NPT
Dear Members
Here’s your weekly update from myself and the rest of the team.
What’s Been Happening
Burglary A burglary has been reported on HEADINGTON AVENUE. This happened on Saturday 21st February 2026 at approximately 8.00 pm. Suspect(s) has entered through a bathroom window.
Bathroom windows are vulnerable as they are often hidden from street view and left open for ventilation. Consider window restrictors or hinged/ sliding locks which limit how far a window can open but still allow airflow. Don't forget wider home security: Keep burglars out of your property | West Midlands Police
Patrols On Thursday evening, officers came across a vehicle on WASTE LANE with two males sat inside. Upon talking to them the smell of cannabis became apparent. The vehicle and males were searched where a small amount of cannabis was seized. The males were dealt with accordingly. Car parks are a part of our regular patrols, especially during the hours of darkness to deter them from becoming hotspots for anti-social behaviour, drug activity and car meets.
Buying scam For those having a ‘spring clear out’ and selling preloved items online, please be cautious. We have been made aware of a theft of a mobile phone where a scammer has met up with a seller and while inspecting the phone, has run off with it.
If selling items please check that the buyer is genuine, meet up in a busy place and have a companion with you. A buyer will want to inspect but do not fully hand the item over and stay physically close. Always confirm payment with your own bank before completing the sale.
Wanted Following a welfare call regarding a male found in a communal bin storage area, one of our PCSOs attended in the first instance. The male was safe and well which is always our top priority, but he was also found to be one of Coventry’s most wanted vehicle crime offenders. The male was arrested. Great job.

Crime figures Over the past nine days on the Bablake ward, there has been two reports of vehicle crime being vehicle interferences on BIRMINGHAM ROAD (suspects trying van doors). There has been one report of a residential burglary on HEADINGTON AVENUE (referred to above).
Until next week Stay safe everyone.
