Male trying car doors - Ashurst area

Good afternoon,

Police received 2 reports of a male trying car doors on the Melbreck estate on 11th February. The male (who currently remains unidentified) was reported to be loitering on the Melbreck estate at 06:20 hours trying car doors.

We are encouraging local residents to be vigilant and to double check that all their vehicles are locked, with no valuables inside the vehicles on show. 

We want to reassure local residents that officers are continuing to work behind the scenes to try and identify this male. Officers will also continue to be showing a presence in Ashurst. 

We are also asking people to check their cctv from 11th February between 6am and 7:30am.
