Keeping Our Young People Safe

Dear Resident,

We are aware of several posts circulating on social media in recent days, and we understand that this may have caused concern among families and young people.

The Metropolitan Police are monitoring the situation closely. We remain in regular contact with schools across a number of London boroughs to offer reassurance, share information, and provide support where needed.

To help keep young people safe, officers will continue to maintain a strong and visible presence around schools, including increased patrols across the borough during school opening and closing times. Officers will be outside key routes, transport hubs and areas popular with young people. 

We encourage parents, carers and guardians to speak with their children about staying safe, making responsible choices, and reporting anything that concerns them to a trusted adult or directly to the police.

Together, we will continue working to keep our young people and communities safe.
