To promote safety during the night time economy in the City Centre

 YOU SAID: 

-You want to enjoy the Leicester City Centre nightlife and feel safe whilst doing so. You want to ensure that licensed premises our operating in accordance with their license. You want to know what we our doing to tackle violence against women and girls. 

*FEBRUARY UPDATE*

-Operation Oversee deployments remain a priority to promote safety during the night time economy. During these deployments we are;

-Supporting night‑time economy safety

-Ensuring licensed premises operate responsibly

-Providing safety guidance and crime‑prevention support to the public

-Integrating with wider initiatives such as Project Vigilant and violence‑against‑women‑and‑girls prevention efforts

During the month of February we have visited numerous licensed premises and taken action when we have found them operating in breach. These outcomes include;

-3 warnings issued

-4 final written warnings 

-2 full license reviews (seeking revocation)

-1 criminal investigation 

We have also identified an SIA license holder who we have prosecuted for possession of a weapon and reported to the SIA to have their license revoked.   

We have continued to deploy officers each Friday and Saturday evening and into the night as part of Project Vigilant. During these deployments we look for and tackle violence against women and girls with a strong focus on prevention and pre-cursor signs.
