New officer hits the ground running in Harrow with swift enforcement and rapid response |

Harrow’s local policing team has welcomed PC Darlow to the West Harrow ward, and residents are already seeing the benefits. On PC Darlow’s first day, officers issued a traffic ticket to a driver with an MOT overdue by three months, responded within 30 seconds to a burglary call in neighbouring North Harrow and took an uninsured vehicle off the road. On Monday 23 February, while carrying out patrols, PC Darlow identified a car being driven without a valid MOT and issued a fixed penalty to prevent it being used unlawfully. Minutes later, the officer supported colleagues at a reported burglary on Pinner Road, arriving almost immediately to help reassure victims and secure the scene. As the team continued proactive checks in the area, officers stopped a second vehicle and found the driver only held a provisional licence and had no insurance. The car was seized at the roadside to prevent further use and the driver was reported to court. PC Darlow said, “It was a great first day in Harrow. I’m looking forward to delivering on residents’ priorities and keeping our roads and neighbourhoods safe.” The day’s activity reflects the team’s focus on visible, proactive policing - tackling road offences that put others at risk, responding quickly to reports of crime and ensuring uninsured vehicles are removed from the streets. Officers will continue high‑visibility patrols across West Harrow and North Harrow, encouraging residents and businesses to speak with them about local concerns.
