Latest results for Op Hornet shoplifting operation |

|
Officers are continuing to achieve great results in Operation Hornet, tackling shoplifting in Welwyn Hatfield. From Monday 1 December to Friday 20 February, the following results have been achieved: The operation focuses on Hatfield and Welwyn Garden City town centres. Local businesses have seen increased patrols aiming to deter shoplifting and arrest offenders. This has included mainly plain clothes patrols. Welwyn Hatfield Chief Inspector Pete Frost said: “This operation is sending out a clear message that shoplifters are not welcome here in Welwyn Hatfield. We want shoplifters to know that they may just find themselves faced against a plain clothes police officer. Shoplifting harms businesses and makes customers feel unsafe. We will not tolerate it as this operation shows.” You can use Herts Connected platform to let us know what you think we should be prioritising in your area.
