Two Arrests After Quick Police Action in Chapelfields

Officers from the West Neighbourhood Policing Team acted quickly on 15 February 2026 after spotting a vehicle with no insurance in Chapelfields, seizing it on the night.

Further enquiries revealed two males had been seen carrying a hatchet shortly beforehand. Both were arrested on 22 February 2026 following the investigation.

One male has been charged with possession of offensive weapon and a second male has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon, driving without insurance and driving otherwise in accordance with a licence.

This is a positive result for the community, removing both weapons and an unsafe vehicle from the streets. Officers will continue taking positive action against anyone carrying weapons in our communities.
