E - Scooter Seizure - Tang Hall

Public Message from North Yorkshire Police 🚓

North Yorkshire Police would like to inform members of the public that an E‑scooter was seized by an officer from the Neighbourhood Policing Team on Tuesday 17th February at 20:40 hours on Melrosegate in York.

The rider was reported for the following offences:

Driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence – Section 87, Road Traffic Act 1988

Using a motor vehicle without insurance – Section 143, Road Traffic Act 1988

E‑scooters remain illegal to use on public roads, pavements, cycle lanes, and public spaces unless part of an authorised rental trial. Privately owned e‑scooters may only be used on private land with the landowner’s permission.

Our officers will continue to take action where unlawful use is identified to help keep our communities safe.
