ASB increase in Cleethorpes |
Dear parents or carers, do you know what your children have been up to this half-term? Already in half-term we have seen an increase in Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) in Cleethorpes by a large group of young persons at public locations/venues. Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated by Humberside Police, Schools, Businesses, Partners and the Local Cleethorpes Community. Can I remind parents and their children- that access to private restaurants, fast-food establishments and cafe's is at the discretion of the venue's management team especially if there is no intent to purchase items. They have the right to refuse entry to anyone for any reason. Persons identified as causing ASB will be issued banning notices from the venues which could carry a fine or civil court action may be pursued if found to be breached via civil court.
You may notice an increased police presence in Cleethorpes and also implementation of new measures from Cleethorpes venue's management teams of how many young persons are allowed into a venue at any one given time to manage this recent ASB increase. As a force, our officers and PCSO's carry out visible patrols, use specialist police powers, and work closely with partner agencies to address the root causes of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) and reduce it occurring. Officers and PCSO's from Neighbourhood Policing Teams gather intelligence about local ASB concerns to take appropriate action using targeted interventions. This can include implementing specialist police powers such as Section 35 Dispersal Orders, Community Protection Warnings (CPW's) and applying for longer-term solutions such as Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPO's) from the local council. The bottom line is this behaviour could result in arrest and prosecution if it continues or escalates.
