Advice - Rogue Traders and Cold Callers

Dear Resident,

Humberside Police receive many reports each year about Rogue Traders or Cold Callers trying to force people to buy things or pay for work to be completed. On 22/02/26 we received a call in relation to a suspicious male that had been in the area of Norton Grove, Hull. The male initially was seen bending down pretending to read a meter. When challenged came up with a story about losing his job and needing money. If you have seen this male or have information who he is please call 101 and quote log number 305 22/02/2026.

On many occasions it is the most vulnerable members of our community that are targeted.
