V.A.W.G (Violence Against Women & Girls) awareness Stall alongside Redbridge Council

Good Morning All,

On the 21st February Ilford Town Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) recently carried out a joint Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) engagement event in partnership with the Redbridge Women’s Safety Lead.

The purpose of this event was to raise awareness of VAWG, provide reassurance, and encourage members of the public to report concerns and access available support services.

During the event, officers and partners engaged with a wide range of people including:

We provided information around personal safety, reporting processes, bystander awareness, and the support services available for victims of violence and harassment. The event also gave members of the public the opportunity to speak directly with officers and share any concerns about safety within the local area.

The engagement was very positive, with strong interaction from the public and meaningful conversations taking place. Increasing awareness, improving confidence in reporting, and strengthening partnerships remain key priorities for Ilford Town SNT.

We remain committed to working with local partners to tackle VAWG and ensure Ilford is a safe place for everyone.
