Community Engagement: Business and Retail Visit

Dear all residents, 

I trust that you are all well. Today's message is focusing on some good news and on the business/Retail engagement we conducted across West Cross Shopping Centre. 

On the 20th, we conducted a Business and Retail Engagement in West Cross Shopping as part of our ongoing commitment to keep our communities safe and build stronger relationships with local businesses. 

This engagement involved officers visiting every single shop and business premises in the area to speak directly with shopkeepers and business owners. The purpose of these visits was to listen, engage, and understand the ongoing issues faced by those operating within the retail sector. 

During these conversations, business owners were encouraged to share any concerns, worries, or issues they may be experiencing, whether related to crime, anti-social behaviour, safety, or general community matters. The face to face approach allowed us to gain a deeper understanding of ongoing issues affecting local retail and business environments. 

Engaging directly with businesses is vital in helping us identify issues, provide advice and ensure appropriate support is in place. It also ensures that concerns are heard and addressed appropriately.  By working together with local retailers, we can continue to build safer, more resilient communities and respond effectively to issues that matter the most to those who live and work in the area.
