Great teamwork leads to swift justice 👮‍♂️

Atherstone Safer Neighbourhood Team would like to highlight the excellent work of our officers and partners following a report of theft from The Original Factory Shop on Long Street and Tesco on Station Street at around 1:15pm on 21st February 2026.

The total value of stolen goods was close to £1,000, and we’re pleased to confirm that all recovered property has been returned to the stores.

Thanks to the vigilance of retail staff, the support of the local Retail Radio scheme, and the outstanding work of council CCTV operators, officers were able to quickly locate and detain the suspects.

One male has been arrested in connection with the incident, and a second individual has been dealt with outside of court.

This incident demonstrates the importance of partnership working between retailers, local authorities, and police in keeping our town centres safe. We’d like to thank everyone involved for their quick actions and continued support.
