Locals say they love to see police patrolling rural villages.
Today, (Saturday 21 February), your local officer was conducting visible road safety patrols in the countryside.
Whilst out and about, he observed a suspicious vehicle in a remote rural location, which had previously been blighted with anti-social behaviour.
Our officer approached the vehicle to engage with the driver and noted an unmistakable whiff of cannabis emitting from the car.
A drug search was conducted and a quantity of cannabis was recovered.
The driver subsequently failed a drug test. He was then arrested and taken to custody.
Further after-dark patrols will continue over the weekend and beyond – all helping to keep our community safe.
