Local Priorities Violent crime Message

I wanted to provide you an update regarding Violent crime, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

Friday 20th February 2026, A joint visit with Trading Standards, Upper Edmonton Ward Police Officers and Police Cadets took place midday today. We attended a number of shops across Edmonton and deployed the Police Cadet to conduct test purchases. A number of shops were identified as selling to underage. We will continue to do this sort of work to maintain a high level of safety for the young people in the area. Among some of the items sieged was a chemical called "Spice". Upper Edmonton Ward Officers will continue to focus on improving residents quality of life by tackling antisocial behaviour and drug related issues. We will continue to monitor the Local Shops, issue fines as and when needed.
