This Week in Oldington, Foley & Sutton Park

Another end of my working week update to let you know some of the things I have been doing and to pass some information onto you.

Do to my late message from last week I was able to advise about the Random Act of Kindness Week. Have you been able to do anything? You can always reply and let us know what you have done.

I have also met some very nice people on my walks around this week. Some looking after grandchildren during this half term. Thank you to all who have stopped and chatted.

If you are a member of a jogging club then please get in touch, or just a runner yourself, please let me know. I can then share information about future events you, your friends and family, can get involved in.

This week I have also done an address security check with help from our Design Out Crime Officer (DOCO). This is where we visit a vulnerable person and provided security advice and can offer equipment when necessary. The DOCO can also get in touch with the housing provider to get further things put in place. It was a great outcome. The DOCO has also helped me by providing a security device for another vulnerable location. Working together to keep Oldington, Foley and Sutton Park safe.

This morning I have assisted Gloucester Police with two arrest attempts. I am happy to say the two males have been arrested and lodged at a custody block in Gloucestershire. This was assisting Stourport SNT. The arrests were linked to Fraud around building work.

If you are unsure, then don’t use the company and don’t feel bullied into work. Don’t feel pressured into quick/short term deals offered, if you have work done straight away. Legitimate companies are more likely to leave company information with you and allow you time. Check the company for reviews or find companies from word of mouth of other happy customers.

If you are finding it hard, ask a friend or family member for support. I’m sure they wouldn’t mind.

Whilst you keep yourself safe, we will continue to prevent offences and pursue offenders whenever we can.

West Mercia Police endeavour to keeping the roads safe. We also have in place a way for members of the public to offer evidence of incidents they see.

As part of Operation Snap, members of the public can report and submit digital footage showing potential traffic offences via a secure online portal.

They receive around 600 submissions every month, and in over 75% of cases they are able to take positive action. Outcomes include:
