Man charged with driving and drug offences after Great Cornard stop |

A 21-year-old man from Sudbury has been arrested and charged in connection with driving offences and possession of cannabis after being stopped in Great Cornard.
Officers on patrol from the Sudbury & Haverhill Community Policing Team had reason to request a driver to stop his car on Saturday 14 February, due to the manner of driving along Shawlands Avenue.
The officers activated the blue light and sirens, but the driver failed to stop and was pursued a short distance.
He was located on foot on Queensway and attempted to run from police. Following a short foot chase he was then arrested on Highbury Way and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
William Browning, of Cats Lane in Sudbury, was subsequently charged with the following offences:
Possession of a controlled class B drug, namely cannabis Driving whilst disqualified Driving a vehicle without third party insurance Failing to provide a specimen for analysis
Browning appeared before Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday 16 February and was remanded on conditional bail to reappear at a hearing at Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday 16 March.
