Dear residents,

Whilst checking the overnight crimes, there was a report of a theft from person on Wednesday 18/02/2026 at approximately 14:30 hours at HUMBER DRIVE, UPMINSTER. The victim had their mobile phone snatched directly from their hand by an unknown suspect.

Stay aware of your surroundings when using your phone in public, especially near roads and on public transport

Avoid standing close to the curb while texting or making calls, as offenders use bike and mopeds to target distracted people

Keep your phone out of sight when not in use

Hold your phone securely and consider using a wrist strap or protective case with grip

Enable security features such as a PIN, fingerprint, or facial recognition

If you are a victim, report the incident and provide the IMEI number if possible. To find out how to obtain your IMEI on your phone, you can check the phone box when you purchased your phone, or type *#06# on your phone keypad and make a note of the IMEI
