Weekly Round-up! |

Good morning Resident,
First off i would like to apologise for not sending this out on Sunday evening at the end of our working week, I decided to pull my back and wasn't able to get anything done. Now that's out of the way, let's get on with last weeks update of what went on in the City Centre.
What’s Been Happening
Arrests – Another week with six arrests made in the City Centre. Two individuals arrested for shop thefts with a third arrested for multiple shop thefts. A male was taken into custody on Friday night for burglary at the Beets nightclub, and he was further arrested for a breach of his Community Protection Notice. This turned out to be a tough job to deal with as the male was on a high level custody watch because of his behaviour in his cell. The other two arrest that were made were for robbery and a domestic assault.
Community Engagement – Our first community engagement event this week was attended by PCSO Barclay and our resident designated neighbourhood officer PC Moore-Harbach, they visited the Adult Education Centre at The Maltings on Wednesday to deliver a talk about Exploitation to SEND students. After incredible feedback from teachers regarding the first session they were asked if they had time to talk to a second class which they jumped at the chance. Both sets of students listened attentively and asked all sorts of questions, officers were very impressed. Once again Adult Education Wolverhampton can't wait for us to come again.
Our second event this week was inside the Wulfrun Shopping Centre for Valentines Day, and it was all centred around Spiking awareness and Sexual assault. In total we had over 200 people come and have a chat with us and lots of kids get involved in our competition as you can see from our pictures, Sergeant Stanley will be picking the winner today and i will be getting in contact with the parents of the winning child.
Guardian Patrols – Our guardian patrols went off without a hitch this week and we even had a deployment of our Servitor officers. Their patrols are not only designed to provide a clear and visible presence of the police within a city centre location but to also exercise our stop and search powers with regards to suspicious looking individuals, i.e. people actively trying to avoid walking through an officers line of sight. These do prove extremely effective a majority of the time with many stops taking place leading to the recovery of drugs and weapons.
Night-Time Economy – Friday night proved to be a quieter one than usual due to the inclement weather, our city centre officers had the pleasure of taking out some 'fresh from Tally Ho!' students out on patrols for the first few hours. This night they dealt with an affray, an assault and the above mentioned burglary. Saturday proved to be a bit busier even with low footfall around the city, i think this was mainly due to a lack of officers after midnight. Even with the lack of staff we still managed to deal with a road traffic collision that occurred outside the city centre, prisoner transport from Wolverhampton to Oldbury custody, the above mentioned DV assault whereby a female has been repeatedly headbutted in a nightclub and finally a missing person after officers where flagged down by two members of the public.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and i hope you look forward to the next one!
