Eighteen blank firearms handed in during first weeks of amnesty |

Since Operation Pivot was launched at the start of February, 18 blank firearms have been handed into police stations in Derbyshire. The national firearms amnesty, which runs until 28 February, focuses on five models of imitation firearms, which have been shown to be readily convertible by testing from the NCA, and are therefore illegal. These models are: Possession of one of these blank firearms after the amnesty ends could result in a prison sentence of 10 years. Eight of the above firers have been handed in, as well as ten other types of blank firearms so far in the amnesty. In Derbyshire, these firearms can be handed into our enquiry desks at St Mary's Wharf, Chesterfield and Buxton police stations.
