Suspicious Activity in the Staveley Area

Police have received a report this evening of suspicious behaviour in the Staveley area. A resident reported seeing an individual shining a torch into gardens.

Officers are aware and will be carrying out patrols in the area. We are asking residents to remain vigilant and report any further suspicious activity by calling 101, or 999 if a crime is in progress / emergency.

To help keep your home and property safe:

Keep doors and windows locked, even when you are at home.

Use outdoor lighting or motion‑activated security lights to deter unwanted activity.

Ensure sheds, garages and gates are secured with sturdy locks.

Check your CCTV or doorbell cameras if you have them, and report any suspicious footage.

Avoid leaving valuables in gardens, such as bikes or tools, overnight.

Look out for your neighbours, especially those who may be more vulnerable.
