Crime updates

Between 06:30 on 14th and 12:00 on 15th February overnight - Theft from a Motor Vehicle x2

South Lane - van was broken into and gardening tools, approx. value of £1500 was stolen.

Albermarle Gardens - unknown suspect has broken into a car and stolen sunglasses, corrective glasses and a smart watch, approx. value of £1000.

South Lane West  - At around 04:00 on 15/02/26  - Interference with a Motor Vehicle, unknown suspect carried out untidy search but nothing was stolen.

With these recent reports we would like to share with you that possible suspect of some of the incidents was identified. Investigations continue.

GOOD NEWS 

A man was arrested at 0815 am on Sun 15th Feb having been seen trying car door handles on vehicles on driveways in Mount Pleasant Road, New Malden. He has been charged with vehicle interference and breaching his criminal behaviour order imposed by a court previously, and will be appearing at Wimbledon Magistrates Court on Mon 16th Feb. 

While this occurred just off our ward there have been similar incidents reported over the last month. Looking for insecure vehicles overnight and other similar types of theft has grown in popularity in recent years so if this is seen in your street please call 999. It is a crime in progress and should be treated as an immediate Police response.
