Did you witness an arson in Watford? |

Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses following a fire in Watford. Shortly after midnight on Sunday 11 January, a man was seen approaching a residential property on Kelmscott Close, in possession of a jerrycan of fluid. It is reported that he poured the contents over the front door of the property, ignited it, and then ran off towards Hagden Lane. Nobody was injured during the incident. Detective Constable Tia Brown from Watford CID said: “Fortunately residents at the address were able to put out the fire quickly leaving only damage to the door itself. Understandably this was a highly distressing incident – setting fire to a building is extremely dangerous and it is fortunate that no one was hurt and no further damage was done. “I am asking for anyone who saw anything suspicious on the night or who has any information related to the incident to get in touch. “If you have any information, please contact me by email tia.brown@herts.police.uk.” You can also report information online at herts.police.uk/report, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference 41/2995/26. Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity FireStoppers on 0800 169 5558 or visit - www.firestoppersreport.co.uk | ||
