Happy Lunar New Year

Chinese New Year celebrations were a massive success to Chinatown in the City Centre. Many attended despite the wet weather elements, to see the dragon parade, the street food stalls and engage in family friendly activities. Chinese New Year is also known as the Lunar New Year or the Spring Festival, with this year's significant occasion to start on Tuesday 17th February. Many people all over the world celebrate this significant date with cultural celebrations including honouring past family members, giving red envelopes and lion dances. Officers responsible for the Chinatown neighbourhood area, were out patrolling the Chinatown area engaging with visitors and businesses, providing crime prevention advice and reassurance in the area.
