Firearm and CS Spray Recovered- Two Suspects arrested and Charged

During proactive patrols on the evening of Saturday 14 February 2026, officers from Perry Vale Safer Neighbourhood Team stopped a vehicle driving erratically around Perry Vale, Perry Hill and Polecroft Lane.

The vehicle was subsequently searched. Inside, officers recovered a loaded, viable firearm and ammunition. Two males were arrested at the scene.

Both individuals have since been charged with multiple offences and remanded in custody to Court, for:
• Possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life
• Possession of ammunition
• Possession of a Section 5 firearm (CS incapacitant Spray)
• Possession of Cannabis

The investigation is now being led by Trident, who will continue to update local officers on the case progression.

This is an excellent example of proactive policing removing dangerous weapons from our streets, putting offenders before the courts and keeping Lewisham communities safe.
