Increase In Phone Theft

Dear Residens of Hackney Central and Hackney Downs, 

We wanted to make everyone aware that there has been a recent rise in phone thefts around the Stoke Newington area. To help keep our community safe, we’ll be increasing our patrols in the park and nearby urban areas. We’re hopeful this issue won’t spread further toward Central and Downs. Please stay alert, look out for one another, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any concerns

With it being half term, there will be many people out and about so please be mindful of your sorroundings and the areas you are in. Thieves can be very clever in identifying potential victims and using distraction techniques or threats of violence, but they are also We will continue to chase down and arrest those responsible, providing updates when we can.
