Burglary Near You -Cecil Avenue

Dear Resident

You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of a burglary that occurred on Cecil Avenue, this occurred on Thursday 12th February in the evening between 19:00hrs and 19:30hrs the method of attack was by snapping the cylinder lock allowing entry. 

BETWEEN TIMES AND DATES STATED, VICTIM HAS BEEN OUT OF THE PROPERTY WHEN SUSPECT/S UNKNOWN HAVE FORCED ENTRY TO THE ADDRESS BY PULLING THE FRONT DOOR MECHANISM OFF. SUSPECT/S UNKNOWN HAVE DONE AN UNTIDY SEARCH OF ALL ROOMS OF THE ADDRESS- ATTEMPTED TO GET INTO THE LOFT, AND HAVE TAKEN: A JEWELLERY BOX CONTAINING APPROX £5000 WORTH OF ASIAN GOLD JEWELLERY, £2000 OF CASH AND 2 WATCHES COSTING £550.

Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between (12/02/26 1900- 2000hrs  to check if you had any activations. 

Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock. 

Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police.
